2/26/06: I recently visited NYC to interview Amanda Bynes, star of the movie She's the Man. Check out the pictures section to see pictures and read all about my trip in the interviews section. The actual audio of the interview with Amanda Bynes and Robert Hoffman will be posted here soon.
As you may know already, I was on MTV for the Diary of Amanda Bynes. This aired a couple of times already. I am shown in two scenes talking to Amanda about her movie.

3/15/06: The Wicked Girls recently stopped by the studio and you can check out all the pictures in the pictures section.
3/24/06: I had the chance to interview Chris Robinson, the director of ATL on Thursday, March 23 at the Ritz Carlton hotel. It was amazing. Check out the review for ATL in the recent reviews section for quotes from the interview.

4/07/06: I will be hosting a screening for a new movie called Over The Hedge on May 15th. IM me (FrmDskTilDwn) or E-MAIL me (bdk@bdkreviews.com) for tickets. My buddy Dan and I went out to an advanced screening of the movie on Tuesday, March 28th. Wanda Sykes was at the screening and I got to talk to her about Clerks 2, my boy KEVIN SMITH's new movie. Anyways, it was pretty awesom going to this screening because the movie was 90% done. There were pieces of animation that weren't finished. It was a pretty fun experience.

5/05/06: Hey everyone... Sorry I haven't updated my site in a while. I don't know if you all heard but Backdraft, the Junkies webmaster, started putting up my podcasts on ITUNES and wjfk.com. Apparently, they have been catching on and are in the top 100 most downloaded talk radio podcasts in the country. 5/15/06: Hey everyone. I am a complete idiot. The screening for Over The Hedge was actually May 10th. I couldn't figure out why people kept e-mailing about the screening after it happened. I am sorry for the wrong date. I will make sure that I give out the right date for the next screening I host.
5/26/06: I don't know about you guys, but I am extremely intrigued by this Snakes on a Plane film that is coming out on August 18th. It looks cheesy as hell, but apparently it is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. I think it will be funny as hell. I saw an interview with Sam Jackson the other day and he did say that there will be a line like, "I've had it with these MuthaF***in snakes on this MuthaF***in plane." I can't wait for this movie. Until now, the teaser trailer will be playing during X-Men: The Last Stand in theaters this weekend.
I recently was approached by this website, blownpotential.com, to start writing reviews for them. It is a really cool concept. You basically give a pre-review of how much potential the film has and then base your review on whether or not it met, blew or exceeded that potential. I submitted my first review for them this week for X-Men: The Last Stand. Go over and check it out.

6/16/06: I had the amazing opportunity to catch an early screening of Clerks 2 on June 15th. I cannot review the film yet, but THE JUNKIES and I will be interviewing Kevin Smith live on the air on June 28th. Make sure you tune in. Kevin Smith is one of my favorite directors of all time. He is responsible for some of the classic comedies of our times, i.e. Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. He is the MAN!!! Make sure you tune in and stay tuned for my review which will be posted on the release date.
6/22/06: OH MY GOD!!! I had one of the coolest nights of my life tonight (6/21/06). I went to a premier of a new film called Shadowboxer, which comes out on JULY 21st. I was invited out to interview VIVICA A. FOX, MO'NIQUE and LEE DANIELS (Director of the film, he also produced Monster's Ball). It was like a red carpet deal. There were about six press people, including myself. Arch Campbell was basically right next to me and the stars would come down the line and we would interview them. My whole interview with Vivica A. Fox was about Kill Bill. It was so awesom to talk to someone who worked with my favorite director, Quentin Tarantino. My interview with Mo'Nique was very funny. I will try and get the audio up on my site of this. In the meantime, there are 2 pictures from the interviews up in the pictures section. It was a great night. The movie, Shadowboxer, is a pretty wild film. Check it out on July 21st.
6/27/06: I was looking online today and I found this teaser trailer for SPIDER-MAN 3. BE THE FIRST TO SEE IT. It will probably be attached to Superman Returns. Spider-Man 3 is slated to come out in May of 2007.
As you may know, my podcasts are up on ITUNES and wjfk.com. However, the website has been experiencing bandwith issues lately so sometimes you may have trouble downloading from there. For now, if you want to hear the most recent movie review podcasts, go to the ITUNES music store and type in "BDK" or "WJFK" and you can download them there.

7/13/06: Sup yall! As you all know, Kevin Smith had to cancel the interview with the Junkies. He is going to reschedule the interview, but he felt bad about cancelling so I received a poster in the mail signed by him saying, "Kevin, I owe you a phoner, sir. And a blow job." Then he signed the poster. HAHA...Keep in mind that he is one of my favorite directors, so this was a surprise.

9/15/06: I am hosting a screening for SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS with Billy Bob Thorton and Jon Heder (he played Napolean Dynamite). The guy who wrote and directed the movie also did OLD SCHOOL. 10/13/06: I will be hosting a screening for BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN on November 2nd at AMC WISCONSIN. E-MAIL ME for tickets! For those of who you don't know what this is, it is the dude from "DA ALI G" show. His name is Sasha Baron Cohen.
10/27/06: On October 18th, I had the oppurtunity to sit down with one of my top five directors of all time, Darren Aronofsky. He is responsible for directing Requiem For a Dream and Pi. His new film, THE FOUNTAIN, is coming out on November 22nd. Check out my MySpace blog for all the details on the interview. I have the interview on a mini-cassette tape which I am still trying to figure out how to transfer. Everyone check out THE FOUNTAIN on November 22nd.

12/17/06: I am a member of an organization called the Washington Area Film Critics Association. Since I just became a member, this was my first year voting for the awards. You have to understand, I never knew I would be doing something like this. Anyways, we as a group of 36 people, voted these picks for the 2006 WAFCA awards. Click here to see the offical press release. You will see our group's decision on Best Picture, Best Actors, etc.
12/22/06: 2007 is going to be a big year. My favorite directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are putting out a movie together which looks EXTREMELY bad-ass. it is called Grindhouse, and it will be taking people back to the double feature horror movies from back in the day. Check out the trailer here. Also, I cannot wait for 300. This is another movie from Frank Miller, the MAIN MAN (and CREATOR) behind Sin City. The trailer looks completely amazing.
